Nautical aesthetics II

 Thus, I shall divide the scope of my newly invented academic aesthetic work, nautical or sea aesthetics, in the next parts:

1) Aesthetics of the sea. Perceiving and appreciating the sea, the water mass it self: the life in it, the wind and the weather, all the phenomena that exist there even without any human presence.

2) Aesthetics of the ships. This, as you can see, deals with the non-exploitative philosophy of all the vessels sailing on the sea, from the sup and surf boards up to the biggest oil tankers, cruise ships and air craft carriers, submarines, and, if needed, also amphibian air crafts.

3) Philosophy of experiences on and by the sea. Work, leisure, sports, arts high and popular, storms on a tiny sailing yacht, beach volley matches, sunburned skin, hypothermia, thunder, squall, calm etc. A special attention is given to the feelings: appreciation, fear, tediousness of all blue sphere inside which a sailor travels across the sea.

4) A special attention will be given to perceiving the sea with the other senses than vision. How does the sea sound like and what are we able to hear about it? How does it feel? What do we think about being seasick.

5) Finally I would like to wonder and play with the words we use describing the sea, seafaring and all that. I guess I should know the language of the words thoroughly in order to understand the nuances.

6) The actual research corpus ot nautical aesthetics can be one's own experiences and memories, videos, sound recordings, photos, literature artifacts, writings, interviews, news, academic articles. I guess even the scientific research could be encompassed. May be not the methods themselves, but the reasons of that work, the motivation of the researchers and the use of the results.

7) Sea romantics from sea spirited fashion to the extreme realism of Stormskärs Maja is worth its own chapter.

 This is just a short question to be considered: What is the nucleus of the nautical aesthetics? We can appreciate and think philosophically about anything even not knowing too much about the scope or subject itself. I cannot answer immediately. So, I ask you, my possible reader, to search for Ivan Aivazovsky's sea paintings. Are they pure romantics without any experience of seafaring? Why and how do they resemble modern they digital photos with exaggerated colors? How was he able to see how the waves look like in heavy weather? You cannot definitely see the sea like that through a camera. So, Aivazovsky, I guess, has had time to look at the waves and learn all those visions that last only fragments of seconds. I guess the sea romantics can be divided into to two: the empty and the full or external and internal of however. Luovaa kielenkäyttöä

Surffailin pornosivuilla. Ainakin tuon erään sivun videoihin on alkanut ilmestyä suomennettuja otsikoita. Tässä yksi: Huoneenvahdittelija oli kiimainen, joten hän tuli huoneeseeni vittuamaan munani Minkähänlainen käännösaparaatti osaa muodostaa sanat "huoneenvahdittelija" ja "vittuamaan"? Jotakin volterkilpimäistä tässä sanailussa on, aivan ehdottomasti! Onko todettava, että tekoäly on jo nyt voittamassa suomalaiset kirjailijat luovuudessa?

Masennuksen hoito

Masennusta podetaan urakalla. Itse olen saanut sen diagnoosikseni 20 vuotta sitten, mutta riesanani se on ollut paljon, paljon kauemmin. Aivan varmasti täytin masennuksen kriteerit, kun 16-vuotiaana lopetin lukion ja jäin kotiin. Mieli oli maassa, välillä en poistunut kotoa moneen päivään. Ikkunaverhot olivat suljettuina viikkoja. Sen jälkeen on ollut helpompia aikoja ja paljon vaikeampia aikoja. Masennuksen syyt ovat psyykkisiä, sosiaalisia ja biologisia. Nämä seikat vielä kietoutuvat toisiinsa. Psyykkiset asiat ovat myös biologisia: masennustila voidaan todeta aivoista. Usein puhutaan hermoston välittäjäaineista: serotoniini, noradrenaliini ja dopamiini vilahtelevat masennuskeskusteluissa usein. Masennuslääkitys taas pyrkii vaikuttamaan näihin hormoneihin. Keskustelu munan tai kanan ensimmäisyydestä ottaa muodokseen arvelut siitä, onko masennus ensin ja hormonaaliset muutokset sitten vai päinvastoin.
